2021 Back to School

2021 Back to School

Description

2021B2S

As our partner schools return to in-person teaching this year, we want to encourage our educators, staff, and social workers to start the 2021-2022 School Year Stronger than before!!
The work they will do in this season is so important, needed, and valued – let’s bring the support by being intentional with how we give and walk alongside our educational community!
The most used resource is our supply request form for teachers to ask for specific things for their room, please take a look and see how you can help, or donate as you wish and we will gather the supplies! Thank you!!

Help a Teacher

This semester we are making an effort to support our local teachers and want to connect you as a partner to give in an intentional and direct way. Your support to teachers is valuable and appreciated, and there are a few ways you can do this! Get involved in one of two ways:

Encourage

Share a story about a teacher who has made an impact in your life and encourage them to continue to be that type of influence in their classrooms.

Volunteer

Share a story about a teacher who has made an impact in your life and encourage them to continue to be that type of influence in their classrooms.

Adopt a Teacher’s Needs

Teachers are currently in need of supplies for the classroom as they transition back to in-person learning. Many have used their funds to purchase items to assist in virtual learning, and now need to switch gears with new tools for the classroom.

Funding

Funds help us continue to give to our teachers in an intentional way such as appreciation gifts, *Covid Comfort Kits, and grocery gift cards for families who have lost a parent/guardian.

*A Covid Comfort Kit is a gift of compassionate items for a student who has lost a family member due to Covid-19. Items include blanket, stuffed animal, journal, book, and grocery gift cards in the instance of loss of a parent/guardian.

Donate Stuffed Animals

Your donation of a stuffed animal will be included in a *Covid Comfort Kit. Stuffed animals are a reminder of someone who cares for them and a source of comfort during loss.

Donations can be delivered to the CalvaryPHX office M-Th 9am – 4pm, or during service times.

P.O.D.S.

Welcome to P.O.D.S. – Parent Online Developmental Support Groups!

PODS are Virtual Zoom groups that meet weekly with families in the same district or stage of school life to remind you that you are not alone, and there is help! Led by a facilitator, each group will offer emotional support, strategies, spiritual encouragement, and connections with others. We know this season of schooling has already been stressful, and it hasn’t even started! We also know that we still want to see healthy children thriving in education, and it starts with you. Let us pour into you, because when parents are supported they can better support their kids.

Overview

Semester 1 of PODS will run for 6-weeks on varying nights at 7-8pm from 8/24 – 10/3/20. Current PODS groups available are listed below to register.
